Rumsfeld Insults Troops to their Faces

Story here

Soldiers ask why they have insufficient equipment and why there is "stop-loss" (pocket drafting). Rumsfeld, in essence, claims that things are fine and what's going on is necessary.

That is not what a military leader is supposed to do. He gave them a raw deal. A leader should side completely with the soldiers instead of implying that they're wrong, that everything's fine. He should be fighting tooth and nail to fix every complaint they have. At the very least, he should never, never contradict his soldiers to their faces! So much for "Bush/Cheney supports the troops".
